OI-16 shoves a cut of cars into Port Reading Yard, past the last remnants of fall color in the area. NS 3434 is former PRR 6077, a rebuilt SD40.

I was surprised at the amount of fall color still present in Port Reading at this date. OI-16 has made a set off in Port Reading Yard and heads south on the Chemical Coast for Browns Yard.

Running long hood forward, SD40-2 no. 3434 heads up the Gillespie Branch with a train bound for the steel plant in Sayreville.

NS 3434 will drop its' mate, SD45-2 1703, off at the turntable. Both units have a CONRAIL history, 3434 was CR 6977 and 1703 served CONRAIL and Erie Lackawanna.
